What can I say? Domestically, we have been poor. At times, we are unstoppable. Other time we just cant seem to break teams down and they counter us – scoring with their only shots on goal. It’s deflating.

We started March strongly. After our hugely disappointing loss to Spurs, we hosted Burnley and blew them away 5-0 with Griezmann getting 4 of the goals.

The January window slammed shut. We had a productive month, getting rid of dead weight (Iwobi and Paulista) and bringing in world-class quality (Griezmann).

My next move was to tie up Sanchez to a new long-term deal. £140,000 a week was originally Arsenal’s wage structure. Ozil, Sanchez and Walcott were the top earners with that, but realistically, it wasn’t going to push us to the next level. If we wanted to bring in the likes of Griezmann, we had to move way past that.

Griezmann came in on a deal worth £225,000 a month, while Ozil signed a new contract worth £215,000 a month. Sanchez was next!

So January was an interesting month, both result wise and transfer wise. We went into the January window with Sanchez unhappy and wanting a move to Bayern. But before that, let’s take a look at our results.

As I mentioned previously, Koscielny and Bellerin were suspended for the Chelsea game. Two of our best defenders, against a Chelsea team that was playing extremely well. We battled toe-to-toe with them throughout the whole match. Unfortunately, Marcos Alonso grabbed a well worked goal in the 86th minute.

Reine-Adelaide scored his first senior goal for Arsenal in the 1-0 win against Norwich in the FA Cup. I’m really pleased with the way he is progressing. One for the future, I’m sure.Read More »

December was another month with mixed emotions, but I feel we have ended the year on a high.

We started off the month against Everton. Which was probably our worst game to date. We played our full strength side, against an Everton team that hadn’t won in 5 games. With 59% of the possession, we managed to register zero shots on target. I say again, zero shots on target. We were woeful.

I wasn’t too fussed about the Benfica game. We already topped the group, so a rotated side was played. I was happy to see others get some minutes under their belt.Read More »

Today’s update see’s us battle through the months of October and November 2016. Normally, we’ve looked at each month at a time but today we have 10 matches that will see us to the start of December.

September was a busy period. We had 6 games to play, two of which were in the Champions League. The first half of the month was much easier than the 2nd, which is why we wanted to rotate our side.

We had routine wins against West Ham, Legia and West Brom. No major concerns. Stefan Bell, our new German centre back who has been playing due to the injury to is national team-mate Mustafi, managed to grab his 2nd goal in two games. Not bad from the 6’4 man. Unfortunately, he also conceded his 2nd penalty in two games – luckily for us, Cech made the save from a Mark Noble shot.Read More »

So we have officially kicked off the new season. As mentioned before, we had three games in August – Chelsea, Hull and Liverpool.

While it was a pretty tough start, I felt we were prepared after a successful pre-season. The players were raring to go. Sanchez had already showed me what he could do up top, so it was a matter of proving himself in the games that mattered.
